Acne is the most common skin condition in the world with an estimated 8 million people suffering with it. For most people, it is those raging hormones associated with the teenager years that cause the eruption of those pimples, blackheads and other blemishes, but it is not unheard of in adults, either.

You can also improve your eating habits to improve acne breakouts. While foods have no direct link to causing acne, if you are not providing your body with the vitamins, minerals and nutrients that it needs, your skin often will pay the price.
If you eat greasy foods make sure that you do not touch your face and that you thoroughly wash your hands when you’re done so not to potentially cause clogging of the pores.
Also make sure that you wash your hair regularly because oils from hair can easily transfer your skin and clog your pores. With this being said it is also important that you regularly wash your sheets and pillowcases to prevent the same problem from occurring.
Although it seems that acne appears overnight, it is actually a long process that begins underneath the skin long before it presents any evidence. Just as acne doesn’t appear on your face overnight, it also won’t disappear in this manner, either. Make sure that you give your acne treatments plenty of time to work.
It takes a minimum of eight weeks to see noticeable changes, and sometimes longer for certain individuals. Remain faithful to your new lifestyle and your treatments and you will be acne free in the quickest time frame possible.
