Black Widow Reportedly Begins Production

After her selfless sacrifice in the Endgame, the Black widow has become one of the Marvel Cinematic universe pretty highly-anticipated upcoming projects. Drawing from a recent tweet, it appears the movie is one stepper closer to hitting the big screen.

A new series of tweets by @mistermygo seems to hint that the production of the black widow movie has begun in Black Park, which is located close to the UK’s Pinewood Studios. This location is intimately acquainted with the world of genre films as it appears to have also been used for Star Wars: The rise of Skywalker which will be released in December.

Scarlet Johannson will be reliving her Marvel Cinematic Universe role as Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff in an epic adventure that will serve as a prequel. The movie’s cast will also include David Harbour, Florence Pugh, O T Fagbenle and Rachel Weisz, all of whom roles are currently unknown.

“It’s such a loaded question” talking about the movie in a previous interview, Johannson mentioned. “I would want to, in the right circumstance and for the film to fit where I’m at, where I am in my life. I mean I’ve played this character for a long time.” she continued. “It’s been probably like eight years or more, and a lot has happened in my life, my life as a performer and in my life personally.”

Johansson further explains. “I love playing this character. And I think there is definitely a chance to explore the Widow as a woman who has sort of come into her own and is making active and independent choices for herself probably for once in her life.” She continued. “You know she hasn’t always had that opportunity so if it fit that criteria then yes I would want to do it.”

Black Widow

And surely, with regards to what happened Nat throughout the Endgame journey her highly anticipated solo movie would take us through a whole other kind of bittersweet adventure.

Speaking to ComicBook.com, Endgame co-writer Christopher Markus explained. “We weren’t entirely aware of [the Black Widow movie], but, even when that became evident that it was one of the projects that they were planning to do, no one told us not to do what we were doing,”.

“Right, and that’s a function of her arc, right?” Stephen McFeely Endgame co-writer added. “Nat finally finding a purpose, a family, and being willing to sacrifice everything for that family. I think of her as perhaps the strongest person in the whole movie. Mcfeely continued. “She’s the woman on the wall in the five years. And even when Cap has doubts, and remember he tells her, ‘Maybe we don’t need to be doing this.’ She does not share that opinion.”
