When someone is very thirsty, there is nothing in this word that can satisfy one’s thirst but an ice-cold glass of water.

Everyone has felt in some point that a glass of water is more satisfying than a glass of juice or soda. Even so, most people do not drink enough water to keep their body dehydrated. We are always destroying the cells in our bodies by simply not drinking enough water.

If you are experiencing any of the signs below, you need to start drinking plenty of water.

Dry Mouth

Of course, when your mouth feels sticky inside, it means that you are in need of a drink. You will also feel very thirsty to the point that when you wake up, you drink too much of water like you can’t get enough of it.

Sweet drinks are just temporary remedies for that. But drinking a glass of water lubricates the mucus membranes in throat and mouth which can keep the moisture in your mouth longer.

Dry Skin

The largest organ in your body is the skin so you can notice the dryness right away if you are not drinking enough water. The skin also needs to be hydrated in order to keep it healthy and young-looking!

If you’re not drinking enough water, your skin tends to be dry which accelerates aging! You do not want to experience pre-aging yet! You also sweat less if you do not drink enough which prevents your body from flushing out the toxins.

Less Muscle Mass

When you are dehydrated, the less muscle mass you have. This is because muscles are comprised mostly of water. It is important to drink water before and after exercising and working out.

This can keep your body hydrated and also comfortable during your exercise. It can also lower your risk of getting inflammation or soreness related to weightlifting or exercise because water can settle on your body wherever they are supposed to be.

Digestive Problems

When the body is dehydrated, the amount of mucus in the stomach decreases which allows the stomach acid to do damages inside the stomach.

This can lead to indigestion or heartburn. You may notice sometimes that your body feels weak and your tummy hurts for no identified reason. This sign is a reminder that you have to drink water already.

Whenever you feel like there’s too much acid in your stomach, drink water right away.

Dry Eyes

Just like your mouth and throat, your eyes will feel dry if you do not consume enough amount of water. Dehydration can lead to dry eyes as your dear ducts dry up without water!

This is totally bad especially for people who are wearing contact lenses as the tear ducts cannot produce tears to keep the eyes safe.

Sick Days are Longer

Drinking plenty of water allows you to flush out all the toxins and unwanted chemicals in your system. From sweating and peeing, you are able to release certain wastes. You cannot function well without water.

When the organs of the body are dehydrated, they will try to extract water out from

the stored areas such as your blood which can lead to new problems. There is also a higher chance of getting sicknesses when the body is dehydrated so make sure to drink plenty of water every day.

You Always Feel Tired

Like what we said, dehydrated body borrows water from other areas like blood. Lack of hydrated blood results to lack of oxygen transported to the body which leads to sleepiness and feeling fatigue all the time.

Like the saying goes, prevention is always better than cure. Since dehydration can lead to different problems, it is better to do be safe than sorry. Drink plenty of water daily to ensure that your body is hydrated at all times!
